History of Ariens Snowblowers
Ariens is still owned by the Ariens family, which founded the company in 1933. All of us that use an Arien snow blower today can be thankful for the collapse of Henry Ariens's original business, the Brillion Iron Works. The Depression brought an end to that business but soon Henry Ariens and his three sons started to produce landscaping machinery.
By the end of the 1950s the Ariens company began developing snow blowers and snow throwers by prototype at the request of some of their distributors. By 1960, the first commercial Ariens snowblower was available and it was an immediate success.
Ariens has continued to develop new models of snowblowers with a wide range of capabilities and specific uses. They have sold over 2 million snowblowers, which is quite an achievement. It's an especially large achievement considering that many of their older snowblowers are still in use today. Everybody has a neighbor or a family member that's still using an Ariens snowblower from thirty years ago!
